These models' frames started developing problems in later years (made out of zamac with lead, which deteriorates over time). The trucks on these models are made out of cast white metal that doesn't age well, either.

Roger painted and lettered his for the Monon. Roger adds, 'The Monon was very proud of its new paint scheme (1948), and kept their road engines clean for a couple years, at least until the early '50s, when profits started to decline.'
