These models' frames started developing problems in later years (made out of zamac with lead, which deteriorates over time). The trucks on these models are made out of cast white metal that doesn't age well, either. The advertisement shows that only 20 were planned on being produced.

Steam Depot was a U.S. importer for Railmaster Exports for a number of years. The RSD-5 had a bigger generator than the RSD-4, but was the same on the outside.

The kit's parts as sold by Steam Depot, which included their "curve" drive system developed by John Chappell, owner of Steam Depot.
