Notes:

The kit includes a resin body, odd-looking resin sideframes, and metal wire to form the handrails. Does not include power, a pole, or a pantograph. This model was produced by James Wolf, which he offered for sale to the general public via Hoquat Hobbies, who added some extra parts.

Dick added an old Walthers O-scale 'short' pantograph, S Scale Loco & Supply Reading tender truck sideframes, an Athearn HO-scale SW-7 powered chassis, and Kadee HO-scale couplers. Extra details (headlights, bell, horns, railings, etc.) are from various sources. The model has been painted and lettered by Dick for his private railroad New York, Westchester & Boston, road number 801. He wrote an article about its construction in the June 1997 issue of the S/Sn3 Modeling Guide magazine.

Notes:

The kit comes as a set of flat photo-etched brass body components plus an assortment of brass shapes and wire, a trolley pole, and white metal traction sideframes.

(image copyright © Dick Karnes; used by permission)
Dick built this model mostly per the instructions, but with road service pilots rather than the footboard pilots included in the kit. The model has an American Models GG1 pantograph instead of the trolley pole. Truck sideframes are Baldwin drop-equalized, originally intended for O-scale traction models. Chassis power is not included in the kit, so Dick used two NorthWest Short Line S-scale Stanton drives.

(image copyright © Trevor Marshall; used by permission)
Trevor built his model up as a Niagara St. Catharines and Toronto Railway (NS&T) engine, road number 20. He used the Black Beetle power trucks (conceptually similar to the NWSL Stanton Drive), and installed the ESU LokSound V5 DCC sound decoder with a PowerPack (a keep-alive solution).
