Northeastern Scale Models sold this kit initially, but later kit sales were taken over by Ambroid Co. Kits were available from Kinsman with ($6.95) or without ($3.95) trucks. The version without trucks also did not include the bolsters nor the coupler pockets, as those were intended to be used by A.C. Gilbert modelers. The body color on these cars was aluminum.
