Notes:
The #706 "Remote Uncoupler" was produced through 1956 in 6 variations. The variations have to do with the color of the housing and the type of electrical connections. The first variation with the standard packaging of the period has a yellow housing and binding post that was typical of early units produced in 1948. The second variation also has a yellow housing with a wire pigtail for the electrical connection. The third, fourth and fifth variations all have green housings, with one having a wire pigtail for the electrical connection, another having binding posts for the electrical connection, and another having two pins for the electrical connections. The sixth variation, produced around 1948, has a black housing cover with two binding posts. In 1954, Gilbert packaged the #706 in a yellow and blue box with a freight yard scene printed on the top that measures 11-1/4" x 4-1/2" x 1-1/2". The large box contained an uncoupler with green housing and a two-wire pigtail. In addition, the box contained a control button and one section of #700 Straight Track (see center of photo).
