Former NASG president, Bill Winans and his wife Sandie were able to travel to Denver, Colorado for this year's Sn3 Symposium. The event drew about 150 modelers plus their spouses. The annual Sn3 Symposium is an organic event, in that someone volunteers to host it for a particular year and others help out. The main focus is Sn3 modeling, but it really turns into a mini Narrow Gauge Convention, in that other scales' narrow gaugers are there as well. This year's event was organized by Dave Ferrier who was helped by Jim Eaman and Dennis Hagan. Bill reports that clinics were held in the morning, and the afternoons were set aside for layout tours and other area events. For example, the Colorado Railroad Museum in Golden, CO was open for visits. For three days, layout tours were available, with each day offering either 5 or 6 layouts. Most layouts open were, of course, Sn3, but some ranged between HOn3 and Fn3. Bill said that he was very impressed with the Fn3 layout in the owner's basement, with so much detail being visible, even down the pupils of the figures' eyes! Evenings were spent at the vendor hall.
