This a scene from Alan Balma's PRR Elmira Branch layout, which is set in September 1956. Extra #73 is leaving Penn Yan, NY on its way to Southport Yard near Elmira, NY.
The PRR N6a cabin car is a brass model imported by SouthWind Models. Alan painted, applied decals, and weathered the model. The hoppers are lightly weathered S-Helper Service models. Scenery materials are from Scenic Express, Woodland Scenics, and Arizona Rock and Minerals. The track is Shinohara code 100 that was painted and weathered. The wood ties in the maintenance yard are from Mt. Albert Scale Lumber. Other details are from various manufacturers.
Alan recently completed and earned the NMRA's prestigious Master Model Railroader award, #820.
