Monon box car #10177 has been spotted behind the B&O station at Dundon, WV near the interchange with the BC&G on Brooks Stover's layout.
The car is one of the two 2025 NASG Annual Member Car Program's cars offered last year. The cars produced by American Models have red ends and roof. However some of the prototype cars with "The Hoosier Line" banner scheme had black ends and roofs, creating a bit more striking appearance. In addition to repainting the roof and ends, Brooks also added wire grabs to the sides, ends, and roof using 0.020" brass wire. He painted the corner stirrup steps red. Using K4 Decals' decals he changed the road number, and put the road number high on the ends per prototype practice. An extra "Return To..." panel of text from the K4 decal sheet was added to the right of the doors. Brooks touched-up the white paint on the top of the ladders where they are in the white banner. The car was weathered with acrylic washes and pastel chalks.

As a side note on the 2026 Annual Member Cars: Pre-orders for this car have been very strong and we are close to meeting our pre-arranged quantity. So, if you have been eyeing this car, be sure to get your pre-order in.
