Roger Nulton recently completed a Monon H-4 class 2-8-0, which he has been working on off and on for a couple of years. It is a SouthWind Models locomotive that he was able to acquire from an estate. It did not come with the original box nor a tender. Along the way he added Monon-specific details to the boiler. He also installed a Soundtraxx Tsunami2 DCC decoder. While he had a spare tender he could use, he decided he wanted something different. He settled on using an Omnicon Missouri Pacific 2-8-0's tender. Using a resistance soldering machine, he was able to remove the dog house and the coal bunker from that tender, and then built the sloped, "clear-vision" coal bunker using both styrene and brass. While he states that his #262 is not an exact match to the prototype engine, he is happy with the final result.
